Our Principal is Mr. Matthew Meitner. He teaches Grades 5 and 6.

Mr. Meitner has been an educator for 16 years.  He graduated Dr. Martin Luther College (now Martin Luther College) in New Ulm, Minnesota in 1995.  Mr. Meitner started teaching at Salem 2001.  In 2005 he was called to be the school's principal.  In 2006 he started teaching departmentalized Social Studies for grades 5-8. He is currently working on his master's degree in education and leadership.  This past Spring, he led a group of 7th and 8th graders to Washington D.C. to learn about the nation's capital.  Mr. Meitner is married and has two sons.

As an educator Mr. Meitner loves Social Studies and teaching about the world around him.  He taught in the Czech Republic for two years and China for one year.  He hopes to go back and teach English in the mission field someday with his family. Mr. Meitner is also a life-long Packers' fan.
