Welcome to Salem Lutheran ChurchOur Mission Statement A CHRIST-CENTERED CHURCH
The chief message proclaimed in our church is "Christ crucified". We talk about the reason God's Son died on the cross, namely to pay for OUR sins. We also talk about the blessings we receive because Jesus died in our place...God's free and full forgiveness and the assurance of everlasting life. Christ's love for us is the power that motivates us to love God and our neighbor. A BIBLE-BASED CHURCH We believe and teach that the Bible is 100% true and accurate - the inspired words of God, not merely the words of men. As such, the Bible is clear, understandable, and powerful. All our teachings are based on the Bible, not on faulty human opinion, philosophy, or tradition. A GOSPEL-ORIENTED CHURCH It is vital that we share the Good News that Jesus rescued the world! We strive to share that Gospel message with the people in our own community. We also support the world wide mission efforts of our Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). Our synod currently supports more than 60 missionaries working in about 20 different countries. Our church body is also active in establishing new congregations all over the United States.
AN EDUCATIONAL CHURCH At Salem we follow Jesus' command to "feed his lambs and his sheep". We stress Christian eduation for all ages. We have a Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and a Lutheran Elementary School for students Pre-K through 8th grade. We also support West Lutheran High School that is located in Plymouth, MN. We also offer confirmation instruction for children and adults, Bible Study for high school students, and a number of opportunities for adult Bible study. A WORSHIPING CHURCH Worship is an important part of our congregational life. Worship is important to us because this is what God desires of his people. During worship our Lord comes to us in his Word and Sacraments (Baptism and Holy Communion) and announces his grace and mercy to us. He strengthens our faith in Christ and builds us up to live for Christ. In worship we have the opportunity to join together and express our faith in Jesus. We sing and pray to God and we listen to him as he speaks to us from the Holy Scriptures. In worship we are communicating with the Lord. Our church's confession is summarized in the following Statements of BeliefsThe Apostle's Creed
